05. Adding Item Categories
Select the Item Categories from the Module List on the left-side of the Screen: The Category grid will be displayed. The purpose of this screen is to Add, Modify, Delete or Search for an Item Category.

To Add a new category, click the Add button (the button with the Plus sign on it). A popup will appear where you can enter a Category Name, choose a picture for the Category button in the Restaurant POS popup and select or deselect the Is AddOn checkbox (For example, Color category is an AddOn). Then press the OK button to save the record.

To Modify an existing category, select the record in the grid and press the Modify button (the button with the Pen on it). The Item Category popup will appear where you can modify the Category Name. Then press the OK button to save changes.

To Delete a category, select the record in the grid and press the Delete button (the button with the X on it). If the Item Category has dependencies, you will not be able to delete it. Otherwise, you will have to confirm and the record will be deleted.

To Search for a category, press the Find button (the button with the Magnifying Glass on it). The Search popup will appear where you can enter a criteria and press the Search button: If no criteria is entered, all the records will be returned. Select a record in the grid and press the OK button. Then, the Item Category grid will be populated with the new criteria and the selected record will be high-lighted. Any changes in the records will be reflected in the Item Category grid.
